EVENT FOCUS FTTH 2023 CONFERENCE
FTTH 2023 CONFERENCE 18-20 April 2023, IFEMA Feria de Madrid, Spain.
If you want to know anything at all about FTTH rollout in Europe, the FTTH Conference 2023, organised by the FTTH Council Europe is the place to go. Taking place at IFEMA Ferie de Madrid on 18-20 April 2023 and, following a very successful 2022 event in Vienna, the Conference attracts delegates from every part of the FTTH ecosystem. With at least 80% of delegates coming from across the continent, visitors include software and hardware vendors, policy makers, government representatives, investors, banks and investment funds, consultant of all types, along with operators, service providers, contractors and builders, making it a truly pan-European show. Vincent Garnier, Director General of the FTTH Council Europe says, “In addition to the two-day exhibition, where leading vendors showcase the best of FTTH technology, the event aims at regrouping the entire ecosystem to discuss the hottest topics for the industry, including the latest technology trends. It is a combination of high level panels, where C-level speakers share strategy on a variety of subjects. But it also goes down to a more practical approach. We have 28 workshops on day one, where practical subjects are presented with real case studies and a lot of interaction with the audience. We cover anything that an engineer would like to understand about challenges of deployment, and in some cases, very specific approaches. We give insights to investors from banks and investment funds, we offer perspective about government policy, so we cover the entire spectrum.” As well as the workshops on Day One, the rest of the two-day conference has a lot offer. With multiple tracks a day for the remainder of the conference, there’s something for everyone. Day Two includes keynotes by President of the FTTH Council Europe, the ITU, the OECD and representatives of other European institutions. The opening panel features CEO’s from major European fibre operators, followed by discussions on Policy and Regulation, and New Apps to run on Fibre Networks. There are also panels from operator CTO’s and Fibre Maturity. Highlights of the day include the FTTH 2023 Awards ceremony and the day rounds off with
European Leaderboards – FTTH/B Market Panorama 2022
Garnier says, “The Conference is an unparalleled networking opportunity and we really build the concept of the conference around offering best in class networking options, with comfortable meeting lounges at several points within the venue, with free high-quality catering, offering delegates to the conference to meet the exhibitors during lunch. For C- level delegates, we have dedicated side activities and an exclusive lounge for high-level discussions such as board meetings. It’s really about making sure that people can talk to each other and can get the most out of face-to-face interaction and consider the future of the industry.” Use Optical Connection’s discount code 23FTOPC to save 20% on your conference ticket.
a cocktail reception before the fantastic Fibration Night Party, held in the relaxing atmosphere of PLATEA, a unique venue in the heart of Madrid, which is expected to attract over 500 delegates. The final day of the conference also covers a wide range of topics with inputs from industry experts from Members of the FTTH Council, and panels on Sustainability, Open Access and Network Sharing, attracting new talent to the industry and a look at rollouts in Germany, the UK, and rural network deployment, featuring prominent representatives from rural fibre operators and investment bodies. The Conference is about more than networking and discussion however, important though they are. The FTTH Council Europe will also be using the event to publish the latest, much-anticipated FTTH/B Market Panorama 2023 report produced by its partner IDATE, the results of which will be discussed and completed by experts bringing their own data and global perspectives during a dedicated panel session on Day Two. In addition, the Council will also release the updated version on its other yearly market reports (FTTH/B Forecasts and an overview of FTTH/B rollout in rural areas), there will also be an FTTH investment tracker, and the revamped version of the In-Home Broadband Excellence guide, produced by Service Provider Members of the Council.
