Zero 1 The goal for Zero 1 was to build a modern ranch style home with the smallest impact on the planet as possible: also known as a Zero Carbon Home. In order to certify our net zero efforts, we applied to the most rigorous certification scheme available, ILFI’s Zero Carbon Certification, and because of that, Zero 1 has become the first Zero Carbon Ready building in California. A common misconception when it comes to green construction is that there is often a large “green premium,” over budget and over schedule, but with Zero 1 it was neither.
