C

L I FTON , NJ — Joshua Chananie, CPA , has been named

“As a service-oriented pro- fessional devoted to building relationships with coworkers, clients and industry profes- sionals, Josh has earned this new appointment thanks to hard work, dedication, leader- ship and commitment to our firm’s highest values,” said Paz. At SMF, Chananie’s practice area focus is the Not-For- Profit Industry Service Group, where he manages some of the firm’s largest clients. He also provides accounting and consulting services to com- panies in the manufacturing

and distribution sectors. An acknowledged leader in the area of accounting and audit- ing training, Chananie has developed numerous training courses and programs for the firm’s professional staff. Prior to being named principal, he was an audit manager. Licensed in New Jersey as a CPA, he is a member of the American Institute of Certi- fied Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Comprehen- sive Behavioral Healthcare

Foundation and the Barat Foundation. “Since joining the firm right out of college, Sax Macy Fromm has offered me tre- mendous professional and per- sonal growth opportunities, which have helped me achieve this milestone in my career,” said Chananie. “I am looking forward to carrying on the legacy and ideals of our firm’s founders, while advancing our clients’ diverse business interests.” In other SMF news, eight new sponsors are among the latest organizations to pledge

support for the SecondAnnual 4 Miler at Garret Mountain, presented by the Sax Macy Fromm Foundation. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Child Life Department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson. Mountain Development Corp. of Woodland Park; Bal- ance Point Payroll of Glen Rock; Daniel McLaughlin; PROBAR, LLC of Salt Lake City, Utah; and J. Fletcher Creamer of Hackensack have joined as Silver Sponsors. Bronze Sponsors include The Chadler Group of Glen Rock; payroll and employee benefits provider ADP; and Columbia Bank. Awide range of sponsor- ship opportunities, designed for businesses of all sizes, are still available for this popular charity event. “We’re pleased to welcome our latest sponsors to the race and are grateful to them for partnering with us in our ef- fort to make life better for the children and families in our communities,” said Paz. “We were thrilled with the success of last year’s inaugural event, which raised nearly $43,000 for St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital’s Pediatric Hematol- ogy/Oncology Department. We fully expect that this year’s race will draw even more participants and sponsorship support.” “It’s a great event, and we are happy to be a sponsor for the second year,” said Peter Luciano, a partner of Balance Point Payroll. “St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital is a tre- mendous organization and we couldn’t pass up on the op- portunity to support them. Not only is this event for a great cause, but we’ve had a won- derful, successful relationship with Sax Macy Fromm over the years and it’s a pleasure to support their foundation as well. We are very much look- ing forward to participating in the run.” Once again, the 4 Miler event’s venue is the 568-acre recreational Garret Moun- tain Reservation, an area landmark located at 288 Rifle Camp Road overlooking I-80 in Woodland Park. It will feature a four-mile run on a scenic USA Track & Field certified double loop course and a 1.5- mile trail walk. Kids’ dashes, ranging from 25 to 200 yards, will be held for youngsters ages 2 to 11. n
