Theft from a local businesses
The Hawkesbury OPP received a report of a theft from a local business in Hawkesbury that occurred on Sunday afternoon April 23, 2017. During the investigation, the images of two males, that police believe has information in the matter, was captured by the video surveillance system. The image of a vehicle described as a red GMC Envoy was also captured. The Hawkesbury OPP received a report of a theft from a local business in Hawkesbury that occurred on Monday afternoon April 17, 2017. During the investigation, the photo of the man, that police believe has information in the matter, was captured by the video surveillance system. The image of a vehicle described as a black Volkswagen Jetta was also captured. OPP arrest two for driving under the influence

Two arrests were made in April and both were for driving under the influence. On April 11, just before 10:00 am, Con- stable Matthew Priess was conducting traffic enforcement on County Road 17 at Tupper Street in Champlain Township, when he intercepted a 2012 grey Chevrolet Silverado for a traffic infraction. Interaction with the male driver gave the officer reason to believe that he had operated his motor vehicle with blood alcohol content over 80 mgs. He was later released and appeared at court on May 3, 2017 in L’Orignal. On April 19, at approximately 1:00 am, Hawkesbury OPP officer Pierre Dubois was
dispatched to the scene of a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of King and John Street in L’Orignal, in the Cham- plain Township. The driver had lost control of his 2015 white Nissan Micra. The driver did not sustain any injuries while the pas- senger sustained very minor injuries. Inter- action with the male driver gave the officer reason to believe that he had operated his motor vehicle with blood alcohol content over 80 mgs. Consequently, the driver, Gabriel Nor- mand (25 yrs) of Alfred, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code of Cana- da with the following section: Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood and Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle. The driver’s licence was immediately suspended for 90 days. He was later released and sched- uled to appear at court on May 24, 2017 in L’Orignal.
