Co-operative workshops
Vankleek Hill and Alfred are among the 12 communities in the province that will
host Conseil de la coopération de l’Ontario (CCO) workshops in the fall.
The exact location in Vankleek Hill has yet to be announced, however, the Alfred
session will take place at the campus of the University of Guelph. The CCO has received
$72,500 from the Agricultural Management Institute to organize awareness and training
workshops which combine the co-operative model, agri-food and rural development
issues. Through these workshops, the council will present the principles, values, and
governance of the co-operative model. Sessions will deal with conventional businesses,
the added values of the co-operative model, opportunities for economic sectors such as
agriculture and rural development, immigration and youth entrepreneurship, business
succession planning.
