Rowlett is located in two different counties – Rockwall and Dallas. Rowlett is served by two award-winning school districts: Rockwall Independent School District, serving over 16,536 students and Garland Independent School District, (GISD), which educates approximately 56,471 students across 72 campuses and ranks as the second largest district in Dallas County.
