Volunteers needed for Sports Dome fundraising

The fundraising committee for the Russell Sports Dome project is looking for volun- teers to helpwith the fundraising campaign on the weekend of September 24 and 25. With the fundraising effort having been given the go-ahead by council earlier this summer, the Kin Club of Russell has been gathering money for the project, which should be completed by fall of 2017, through various means. This September, a door-to- door campaign will be held throughout the township in order to solicit donations from residents. “We need canvassers and support staff to go door-to-door throughout the town- ship and solicit donations for the dome,” said fundraising chair Doug Anthony. “We plan to go door-to-door through the entire Township in one to two days and we need the help of as many volunteers as possible to get it done in a day or two.” Volunteers will be needed to canvass door-to-door and gather funds through cash, cheque or credit card. Volunteers with a smart phone or tablet will be able to accept credit card payments. Donations can also be made directly at www.sportsdomesportif.ca. Charitable re- ceipts will be available for any donation over 20$ while special donor support lawn signs will be awarded to anyone donating
