LAUNCH & VISION

BUILDING WITH PURPOSE

Kennesaw State University launched the Hospitality Management pro - gram with a clear and ambitious vi - sion: to build a business-first hospi - tality degree grounded in leadership, experiential learning, and industry relevance. From the outset, the program was designed to respond to a changing hospitality landscape. Industry leaders called for graduates who understood operations and strategy, service and finance, leadership, and adaptability. The program’s curriculum and experi - ential model were intentionally built to meet those expectations.

This vision emphasized three guiding principles: Industry alignment, ensuring cur - riculum and experiences reflected real-world expectations. Experiential learning, placing students in professional environ- ments early and often. Leadership development, prepar- ing graduates to advance quickly and lead with integrity.

Rather than grow for growth’s sake, the program focused on building the right foundation. Partnerships were cultivated deliberately. Coursework was designed to evolve. Student en - gagement was embedded into the cul - ture from day one. Five years later, that vision contin - ues to guide the program’s trajectory. Growth has followed purpose, and outcomes reflect intention. What be - gan as a bold idea has become a thriv- ing academic and industry-connected community with momentum that continues to build.

ENROLLMENT GROWTH

MOMENTUM WITH INTENTION

Since its launch in Fall 2020, the Hospitality Management program has experienced sustained and significant enrollment growth. In just five years, enrollment has increased by more than 500 percent, reflecting strong student interest and confidence in a business- focused hospitality education. This growth is not accidental. It is the result of intentional program design, industry alignment, and a curriculum that resonates with stu - dents seeking both immediate career opportunity and long-term advance - ment. As awareness of the program has grown, so too has its appeal to students from diverse backgrounds who are drawn to hospitality as a dynamic, people-centered business.

Enrollment growth has also been supported by experiential learning opportunities and visible career out- comes. Students recognize the val - ue of gaining real-world experience while earning their degree, and fam - ilies see a clear return on investment through internships, job placement, and career readiness. Rather than expanding rapidly with - out structure, the program has grown deliberately, ensuring that academic quality, student support, and industry engagement scale alongside enroll- ment. This approach has allowed the program to build momentum while preserving the personal - ized experience that defines hos - pitality education at Kennesaw State University.
