tender, and as we talked o f the Lord and His Word, she expressed a desire to study, promising to come to my home on Thurs day mornings. The first Thursday she did not come, and I found that for the first time in months, her husband was at home. A fter he left home, she asked me over the phone to come out to her. O f course I went arid together we had an hour over the Word. BeforeT left we knelt in prayer and she told the Lord she wanted to belong to Him, live a better life and be a better woman. Her husband is making fun o f her, but we are praying for him.1—H. Last week I came to the home o f a woman on whose porch stood a man, evi dently a peddler. He was talking to the lady, and as I came to the porch he said, “Well, I’ll go and let this lady talk with you.” I invited her to the Bible class and she asked me to come in and tell her about it. Then she told me how th e, man at the door had been telling her o f the won derful healing o f a man deaf, dumb and blind, through Christian Science. That opened the way for me to -give her God’s Word, and she told me how sick she was and how much need she had o i getting right with God, Said a neighbor had talked and prayed with her. Then she told me that as a child she had gone to the altar to confess Christ, at which time her uncle with whom she lived insisted on her Being immersed, but that she was so afraid of water she could not bring herself to con sent. Finally the uncle had told her she would go to hell if she was not baptized. Lately there has been a desire in her heart to confess Christ in baptism. I asked her if she would accept Christ then and after ward make the public confession, which she agreed J:o do, and as we knelt together she surrendered herself wholly to the Lord. It seems to me she is a very sick woman and may pass away suddenly. She cer tainly had great need o f getting right with God. In her prayer she thanked God for sending someone to help her.—H.
for the study, they begged for an hour o f study, which I am most assuredly giving them. Knowing that the' community in which one o f my classes is held was honey combed with Christian Science, I gave some o f the members o f the class Florence Cul ver’s tract on the subject. The next week one o f them reported two families thor oughly upset by reading the tract. I am counting on visiting these homes very soon. —M. On a “ rest day” a Bible woman asked the Lord to show her some one whom He wanted her to talk with and help. On going for luncheon she was seated at a table with a most attractive young woman. They entered into conversation and the stranger was unusually friendly, and stated she was stopping over for the day and leaving that night for San Francisco where she was to take the steamer for Honolulu. The worker felt that God had brought her in answer to definite prayer, and after some desultory talk asked the young woman if she really knew the Lord. The woman .confessed that she did not, and that her life in Honolulu was a frivolous round o f society and pleasure. After a long talk she accepted Jesus as her Saviour. She is still happy in the Lord and is serving Him, and writes “How wonderful that just when I was feeling the need o f something dif ferent, God should send you to show me the way.” He does most surely direct our paths.—C. Last fall the Lord led me to a home where I had a long talk with a man and his wife about spiritual things. The wife was interested in Christian Science, and the only interest the husband took in God’s W ord was to argue against it. A fter the first interview I was unable to have any definite talk with either until about ten days ago. When I called the woman said, “ O, I’m so glad you have com e!” Her father had died and her heart was Sorrowful and
