AHRC SUFFOLK RE-OPENS LAKELAND DAY HAB
ARC OF ONONDAGA HOLDS GRAND OPENING
After being closed since the pandemic, AHRC Suffolk recently welcomed everyone back to their updated Lakeland Day Hab facility.
Arc of Onondaga recently held a ribbon cutting for their Wilbur Center for Opportunity! The Wilbur Center is a new habilitation program and hub for Arc Onondaga's community-based Without Walls (WOW) program, and their community-based Pre- Vocational program, which provides training for people looking for employment. The center also includes a dedicated space for the agency's art program — ArtSurge, a computer lab, a gathering space, and residential and commercial kitchens to provide independent living skills and pre-vocational training for people interested in pursuing a job in the hospitality industry.
“Today, everyone returned to our beloved Lakeland Day Hab. Following our ribbon-cutting ceremony, everyone settled into their program rooms, and they are getting reacquainted with Lakeland,” said Lakeland Program Manager Joyce Mildbrandt. “After lunch, we had our first hallway dance party with dancing and snacks. Everyone had a great day and we are happy to be back!”
