OFFERING SEVERAL EDUCATION OPTIONS FOR THEIR SUPPLY CHAIN, AICO HAD A RECORD-BREAKING NUMBER OF INSTALLERS COMPLETE THEIR FIA-CPD ACCREDITED TRAINING THROUGHOUT THE LAST YEAR… Aico complete training for 10,000 Expert Installers in 2022

P romoting best practices through education is a key part of Aico’s mission statement. Offering a variety of education for their supply chain, Aico has seen a record-breaking 10,000 installers complete their FIA- CPD accredited Expert Installer training throughout 2022. Daniel Little, National Sales Manager for Aico, commented, “To reach this fantastic milestone, we have trained our customers in the early morning, over lunch, and in the evening to ensure we hit our mission statement of sharing best practices to deliver safer homes; anywhere and at any time.” Expert Installer training is delivered across the UK by Aico’s team of 29 Regional Specification Managers. The one-hour core module of the award- winning Expert Installer training covers the key information required to correctly install domestic fire and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms and environmental sensors with details about standards and legislation. Liam Winter, Electrical Operations Manager at Gasway, has recently participated in the training alongside 80 colleagues. “The training was greatly received and equipped our staff with

the knowledge, confidence, and ability to install Aico’s products. It also gave them the tools to educate our customers on the importance of fire and CO safety and what to do in the event of an alarm sounding,” he explained. “Due to the nature of the industry we work in, fire and CO safety is at the forefront of what we do, and to be able to keep our customers and their properties safe with the knowledge that the Aico products won’t let us down is of great reassurance. We also have a large portfolio of social housing landlords we work with and continuous investment in this type of training not only gives them the confidence and belief in us as a contractor but also ensures that they remain compliant as landlords.” Expert Installer training sessions are available throughout the UK, delivered in popular locations and onboard Aico’s state-of-the-art mobile training and demonstration units to offer greater accessibility and flexibility for all customers. The course is suitable for many areas of the company’s supply chain, including

electricians, fire and rescue services and social housing providers, as well as apprentices. Upon successful completion of the training, Aico’s Expert Installers are encouraged to become a member of the Aico Installer Community Online – a connected platform built to support Expert Installers with carefully designed educational challenges to inspire members to expand their knowledge of home life safety devices. Expert Installers who are members of the community are eligible to participate in Aico’s free-of-charge City & Guilds Assured Qualification, designed to give a detailed understanding of the design, installation, maintenance, interconnection, siting, and electrical connection of domestic fire and carbon monoxide alarm systems.
