Role Purpose We are seeking a Chartered commercial surveyor to formulate, lead and deliver the strategy for land and property acquisitions and disposals on behalf of Warwickshire County Council. The successful candidate will join a small, dedicated asset strategy team, providing commercial advice and strategic lead to ensure the Council has the capital receipts and revenue streams from property investment it requires to deliver Council services. • On behalf of the Strategic Asset Manager to formulate and agree the acquisition and disposal strategy for the Council • To prepare and recommend the implementation plan to deliver the strategy. • Implement the plan with the support of the Acquisition and Disposal Surveyor and appointed professional advisors. • Prepare Cabinet reports and business cases to obtain funding to deliver the strategy • Manage and report financial performance and budget activity for the implementation and delivery of the strategy • Provide property acquisition and disposal governance reporting on behalf of the Strategic Asset Manager. • Ensure project management processes are robust and acquisition and disposal risks are managed. • Ensure that delivery routes are available including viable and compliant procurement routes for professional advisors. • Build and manage senior stakeholder working relationships identifying key stakeholders and communicating effectively. • To manage the Property Acquisitions and Disposals team ensuring all line management duties are undertaken together with performance reporting. Role Responsibilities 1.0 LEADERSHIP 1.1 Provide leadership to the Property Acquisitions and Disposal team ensuring the required skill and competency levels are in place and that any identified gaps are dealt with via a programme of recruitment, training, development and CPD. 1.2 Undertake the line management of the team, allocating tasks and projects where appropriate depending on core skills and workload priorities.
