Souper spaghetti du 58e Groupe Scout Les scouts du 58 e groupe organisent un souper spaghetti le 27 février prochain, à la Salle communautaire de Plantagenet. Le groupe de musique Arc-en-son sera présent et agré- mentera le repas avec une sélection variée de pièces musicales. Lors de cet événement, qui commencera à 17 h, les scouts tiendront leurs trois tirages annuels. Cette année, les prix sont un voyage pour deux dans le sud ou une valeur équivalente en argent, une fin de semaine dans les Laurentides et une somme de 100 $. Les fonds amassés lors de cette soirée serviront à financer les activités des scouts du 58 e groupe. Des billets pour le repas seront en vente à l’entrée. Pour les tirages, quelques billets sont encore disponibles. Pour de plus amples détails, les intéressés peuvent communiquer avec Chantal Séguin au 613-673-2341. Vente à la Friperie de Rockland Du jeudi 11 février au samedi 20 février prochains, la Friperie de Rockland, située au 2815, Chamberland, organise sa grosse vente. La Friperie est ouverte les jeudis de 13 h à 20 h, les vendredis de 13 h à 16 h et les samedis de 10 h à 13 h. Tous les profits sont versés à la banque alimentaire.
Special school assignment
Jean-Marc Lalonde ended up going back to school, as the key feature for a student research project. Lalonde shakes hands withMichael Demmery (left), a Grade 5 student at Rockland Public School. Demmery’s class is researching the Order of Canada and its past recipients who have lived up to themotto of “making Canada a better country.” Demmery chose Lalonde as his research subject to profile as Lalonde will be inducted into the Order thismonth.
