Leadership, Decision Making Skills, & Communication in which Kappa Leagu- ers learned about the various styles of leadership and performed exercises in communication and teamwork. A group discussion followed to help gain an understanding of how they perceive themselves in relation to how others perceive them in order to help build self-awareness and self-esteem. Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Discussion facilitated by Cheryl Deas, Founder of Darnell Deas, Jr. Marvelous Light Foundation, who presented on the topic of mental health and suicide pre- vention to Kappa Leaguers. The founda- tion’s mission is to support families who have been affected by suicide and pro- mote mental health awareness through education and advocacy in children, adolescents, teens and young adults. Inspiring youth to know that they are not alone; their lives are valuable, there is always help and another way out. Speaking with Confidence in which Kappa Leaguers participated in a work- shop to help them perfect their public speaking skills, ensure an unforgettable first impression, and effectively network. Senior Konsultations in which the Ad- visory Team guides Senior Kappa League members through the exploration of their post-secondary options having genuine discussions about choosing the right fit for their personalities and figur- ing out what also makes financial sense. Due to COVID-19, in person meet- ings subsided and the school year ended with a Virtual Kappa League Celebration for the Class of 2020 recognizing eight seniors. Seven will be attending higher education institutions and one enlisted in the Armed Forces. The Jacksonville (FL) Alumni Chapter Guide Right Leadership & Development Program is proud recipients of the 2019 Southern Province Jay Crosby Award (Large) and 2019 Southern Province Bert V. Wad- kins Award (Large).
