The Care We Deliver

Residential Care

We support older people with a range of different needs. It might be a bit of help with getting up or going to bed, support with washing or dressing or assistance with eating, drinking and takingmedication. Otherwise known as elderly frail care, this type of care is for those people that want to retain their independence but need a bit of support to do so. Specialist Dementia Support People living with dementia often need the same sort of assistance as those receiving residential care, but in a slightly different way. They are aided with all of the daily tasks they may struggle with, assisted to make good decisions and stay

Our Philosophy of Care

At The Orchards we are committed to making every day special for every one of our residents. They are still individuals, still loving husbands and wives, parents and grandparents and amazing people that have lived fulfilling lives and have helped shape the world we live in. Just because people are a bit older or need a little help to get through their day does not change the fact they are individuals and deserve to be treated as such. They still control how they are cared for, when they get up and when they go to bed. They help create the menus, plan the activities and choose what they do with their day.

safe and supported to maintain their

sense of self as their condition progresses.

Comfortable Rooms

Life at The Orchards

The luxurious rooms at The Orchards have been designed and fitted out to the highest standards to ensure maximum convenience and comfort. The rooms are spacious and bright, fully furnished with an electric profiling bed, sitting chair, mood night lighting, TV, Wi-Fi, telephone, and an en-suite wet room. Both the bedroom and wet room have a 24 hour a day call bell system which gives the peace of mind that care is on hand at a touch of button whenever it is required. We encourage residents to bring some of their own pictures, ornaments, small furniture items and any other items they wish to make the room their own.

All of our residents are individuals and all like to do things differently. But, here are some of the things our residents enjoy:

Dining Experience

One of the most important parts of everybody’s day is mealtimes, and that is no different at The Orchards. We have an exceptional catering team who are dedicated to providing fantastic food to our residents and ensuring we meet all of their nutritional needs. We will support any diet, every like and dislike and will keep everybody happy!

Hair Salon

We believe in living a normal life and what could be more normal than popping to your favourite salon. If the weekly blow dry and set doesn’t make you feel special enough then why not indulge in our nail bar too.

Activities and Social Events

Life should be fun, and that doesn’t change when you get older, that is why we have a dedicated activities team whose only job is to keep our residents occupied, busy and happy. Whatever you like to do, whatever makes you happy we will try and support you to stay active and engage in what puts a smile on your face.

This includes our residents enjoying their favourite tipple in the Sky Bar, taking High Tea in the opulent Tea Room or watching a classic movie or cup final in the Cinema. Of course, no list could cover everything our residents do, but in short if you want to do it we will try to make that happen.

Kelly Hickey-Fareed Accounts

I love to find out about our wonderful residents and enjoy listening and finding out all about their lives, we learn so much from our wonderful community here at The Orchards. When I find time to relax…don’t tell everyone but I do enjoy Lego and socialising….not Lego groups!! I enjoy being a carer as I love learning about my residents’ lives and taking care of those that have made the world what it is today. When I’m not working I love to curl up at home with a cup of tea and a good book! Alyce Bacon Carer

I feel privileged to provide support and reassuring residents with their individual step by step journey when joining The Orchards community. Encouraging our residents and their families to embrace all that we have to offer. Away from work, my main obsession is travel, I love spending time with my family and friends, and eating as much Italian food as possible!

Claire Ayris Deputy Manager

I really enjoy my role as I’m part of making decisions to give our residents the best care possible. I enjoy bringing a smile to work every day and seeing the residents with a smile. My hobbies include diamond painting, spa days and spending time with my family and friends.

Gigi Buraga Head Chef

I enjoy working here at The Orchards because I love meeting and chatting to the residents. I have a great team working with me in the kitchen. I enjoy attending the church, joining in with the singing and helping out in the community. I also love football and Formula 1 racing.

Steve Joy Maintenance Manager

What I love about The Orchards is the family atmosphere and great community spirit. When I am not at work, I enjoy fishing, gardening and planningmy walking holidays in Wales and the Peak District.

We are a Charity

Our Home for Life Promise

The Greensleeves Care Home for Life Promise means that we never ask a resident to leave one of our care homes because they run out of money. This is often a great source of comfort both for people looking for a care home and for our residents who already live with us. We believe in fairness and so do our families, but they also expect us to manage the charity in an equitable and sustainable way. That is why there are a small number of stipulations on our Home for Life Promise:

Our families often choose Greensleeves Care because we are a charity and we exist simply to help older people live happier, more independent and fulfilled lives. Being a care charity means we do not have to compromise to make a profit.

. . .

They must complete a financial assessment form prior to moving in They must be honest about their financial position on that form

Most care organisations do their best for the older people that live with them, but they have to balance the needs of their resident with their owners and shareholders. At Greensleeves Care we are lucky, because we are able to focus all of our efforts on our mission to help as many older people as possible.

There must be no financial mismanagement during their stay.

“Very pleased with the care, understanding and help I received. The staff are excellent, very caring especially. I was also impressed by the way in which they all knew my name, thus making me feel very welcome and part of the community.” Daughter of Resident “Would like to thank you all for your kind wishes and everything else you do for John and myself. It was a really lovely surprise to receive an anniversary cake!”

We also Care about you

As you would expect we are dedicated to supporting our residents and making their lives with us happy and meaningful. But, our residents are not the only people we care for. We are also absolutely focussed on supporting our residents’ loved ones and families. After all when your loved one moves in, they don’t just change their address, they and you join something much more. Our team understand how difficult it is to see your loved one become more frail and start to need more support; so we ensure we also give you the love and support you need as things change.

Wife of Resident

“Having visited The Orchards, we think Francis is in the best place. We thought it lovely, more like a hotel

with very f riendly caring staff. Keep up the good work!” Relative of Resident

That’s what being part of the Orchards family is all about.
