ROOM TO CHANGE WELCOMING 3 AWESOME NEW PEOPLE TO OUR TEAM

clinical team as a dental assistant who got into this field because she loves to be a part of helping patients achieve smiles they love.

To begin, I want to say thank you for the opportunity to serve you! It is a privilege to change smiles and change lives for you and your family.

I feel fortunate to work with an amazing team. It’s the whole reason our practice is named Team Demas Orthodontics. I love my staff ! They are wives, husbands, mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers, all helping me change lives. Together, we work to bring you and your loved ones a lifetime of smiles. We love what we do! “The changes at our clinic brought opportunities to add to our team by bringing experienced, skilled team members on board, some of whom go way back with Team Demas.” As you may have noticed, there have been changes in the clinic. With her daughters starting school, Kelly took a job closer to home, and Christa also made a change recently. I thank Kelly and Christa for all they did for Team Demas and wish them the best. They were a wonderful part of our team and contributed to making this a great place for our patients. Change can be tough, but it often opens unexpected doors. Thankfully, the changes at our clinic brought opportunities to add to our team by bringing experienced, skilled team members on board, some of whom go way back with Team Demas. In fact, I’ve known one of our new orthodontic assistants, Corey, for over 10 years! He worked and trained with me at my prior practice, and this is a wonderful chance to work with him again. He has 12 years of experience in orthodontics and looks forward to a patient’s “first look” moment as excitedly as they do! It was also an easy decision to bring Heather on board as an orthodontic assistant. With over 12 years of experience in orthodontics and an appreciation for the transformative power of our work, she is the perfect fit! Heather lives locally and brings a wonderful skill set to our team. Finally, Mackenzie completes the

Tracy is our clinical coordinator with over 18 years of experience, and both Christines round out our administration team with their extensive experiences of 21 and 15 years! I am so honored and blessed to work with an awesome, caring team!

Life is about change, but be assured that we have brought on the best to live up to our name: Team Demas Orthodontics.

We thank you for your support and referrals! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

BRINGING SMILES ALL AROUND MEET OUR AWESOME NEW TEAM MEMBERS!

HEATHER

COREY

MACKENZIE

Heather has been in the dental field for over 20 years and in orthodontics for over 12 years. She is a certified orthodontic assistant. Heather’s entry into the dental field is a fun story. When she was a teenager, her dentist came into her family’s restaurant every day for lunch. One day, he asked if Heather could come help at his office, and as they say, the rest is history. From that moment, Heather knew she would always work in this field. Heather moved here from Florida in 2017. She and her husband have a teenage daughter, and Heather loves having an active role at her school. Heather also loves hiking with her family, riding bikes, and swimming.

Corey graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Gateway College. He has been an orthodontic assistant for over 12 years, serving nearly 23,000 patients! He previously worked at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital before making a career change to orthodontics. “I love working at a Team Demas. The people you work with make all the difference in having a positive outlook. Most of all, I enjoy witnessing a patient’s ‘first-look’ after they have their orthodontic appliances removed, revealing their impressive results.” Corey and Dr. Demas worked together at their previous location for over 10 years. If it wasn’t for his employment with Dr. Demas, Corey might not have met his beautiful wife, who is a dental hygienist. Corey, his wife, and their son, Aiden, enjoy family time spent traveling and relaxing on the beach.

Mackenzie completed the Dental Assisting Program from Stone Academy in 2019. She brings a youthful, fresh, and dynamic skill set to Team Demas. She has completed the rigorous Infection Control Exam and is radiology and CPR certified. She loves helping people any way she can, including volunteering at elementary schools and at the Free Dental Clinic Days. Most importantly, she wants to help everyone smile with confidence. “I chose this profession because I like to be a part of helping patients achieve smiles they love.” Mackenzie has a 2-year-old rescue pitbull named Murphy that she enjoys taking on hikes and trail runs. Summer, her favorite time of the year, is when you will find her relaxing at the beach or exploring cuisines at the newest local restaurants with her friends.

ROLL THE DICE ON FUN

TURN FAMILY GAME NIGHT INTO A REAL ADVENTURE

Has Monopoly caused one too many fights? Are you tired of stockpiling resources in Settlers of Catan? Maybe it’s time to introduce your family to a new kind of game, one where you control the story and a single roll of the dice can change everything. This is the world of tabletop role-playing games (RPGs), where players embark on epic adventures under the supervision of a central Game Master. There are a lot of RPGs out there to choose from; here are a few your whole family can get into. Go On a Quest: Dungeons and Dragons The first. The biggest. The king of tabletop RPGs. Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) has been around since 1974, though shows like “Community” and “Stranger Things” have only recently helped the fantasy game gain mainstream acclaim. There are a lot of rules involved in the gameplay, so D&D can seem overwhelming to new players. But once you become familiar with the game, there are limitless options for characters and quests. How will a human fighter, an elf wizard, and a dwarf cleric save the world? Roll the dice and find out. Become Super: Masks If your family has ever had a long conversation about who would win in a fight between the Hulk and Superman, then Masks is the RPG for you. Fly into Halcyon City where your family can take on the role of a team of young superheroes. Create your own hero and work together to

make the world a better place. Fight supervillains, rescue citizens, and ultimately determine who has the best superpower.

Solve a Mystery: Bubblegumshoe Did you grow up reading “Nancy Drew”? Are your kids all about BBC’s “Sherlock”? Then Bubblegumshoe is the game for you. This teen sleuth adventure is geared toward younger players, so it’s easier to start than other games on this list. Don’t worry if you’re not a mystery writer; the game comes with prewritten stories for your brilliant characters to solve. The villain might have gotten away with it if it weren’t for your meddling kids!

What are you waiting for? Grab some dice and get the party started!

JOURNEY DOWN A RIVER OF NO RETURN

THE UNSPOILED BEAUTY OF CENTRAL IDAHO

hiking. Some, like the Middle Fork Lodge, offer five-star accommodations, located conveniently close to one of the area’s many natural hot springs. Those with the right permits will find the rivers and lakes full of fishing opportunities, and the surrounding pine forests are teeming with game. LODGES? I JUSTWANT TO GET AWAY FROM IT ALL. For those looking for a truly unplugged experience, backpacking to the many campsites scattered throughout the region can be an incredible journey. If you spend a night beside the crystal-clear waters of Langer Lake, hundreds of miles away from any light pollution, you’ll find peace, quiet, and a sky bursting with stars. If you’ve ever wanted to experience a truly untamed part of the United States, Idaho is the hidden gem you’ve been looking for.

There’s more to Idaho than potatoes. Sitting square in the center of the Gem State is one of the largest contiguous areas of protected wilderness in the U.S. While the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness Area may not roll off the tongue as easy as Yellowstone or Yosemite, this 2 million-acre swath of mountains, gorges, and alpine lakes offers something for outdoor enthusiasts of all stripes. RIVER OF NOWHAT, NOW? The name of the wilderness may sound a little ominous at first —who wants to travel down a river of no return? — but in truth, it’s a title from times gone by when canoes and small watercraft could travel down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River swiftly but couldn’t fight the current going back up. Today, those same rapids make the Middle Fork a wildly popular whitewater rafting destination, with plenty of local and out-of-state enthusiasts making a return journey every summer. RAFTING ISN'T FOR ME. WHAT ELSE YOU GOT? If crashing down 300 Class III rapids isn’t your speed, the Frank Church Wilderness has plenty of other ways to enjoy the wild mountain country. There are several lodges that were grandfathered in to the wilderness area, most of which are only accessible by jet boat, light aircraft, or good old-fashioned
