The people who largely inhabit this land are the Arabians. Historically, there has been a fight between Isaac and Ishmael — here is the culmina tion of that struggle; the Arab nation uniting with the Communist block for the great conflict. But what about Germany? In Eze kiel 38:6 — the name Gomer doubt less has reference to Germany — per haps Eastern Germany. Gomer was the grandson of Noah the son of Japheth. The descendants of Gomer are said to have traveled along the Danube. Their land was quite naturally called the land of Gomer or Gomerland, then passing on into its modem equivalent, Germany. Germany was never a part of the Roman Empire. In the day when the anti-Christ heads the Roman Em pire, Germany will be linked with the Northern Confederacy. "They Shall Not Overflow" Full well we knew our lives would hold Some sorrow, grief, and care, But oh, this cup of anguish Seems more than you can bear. How can you face the swirling floods That would overwhelm your soul? Oh, hark, dear friend, and hear God's Word— "They shall not overflow." Such grief as this cannot be borne In human strength alone. The Man of Sorrows must draw near And make your grief His own. And though the flood tides threaten you Through which you now must go— Oh, hear His words— and trust Him for "They shall not overflow." — Ethel C. Cyphers In Ezekiel 38:4, the Lord God ad dressed Gog or Russia as one would a wild beast. As a beast would be led about so God will lead this infidel government by hooks in her mouth. Ironically, as she’s thinking she is mak ing the advancement, God will rather be leading her down. 7
Russia? No, but the Holy Spirit did. Josiah was named 300 years before he was bom. Isaiah prophetically ad dressed Cyrus, king of Persia, 150 years before the days of Cyrus. Gog is to be the last ruler of Russia, a contemporary of anti-Christ. Why should God be against Gog? It is possi ble for a man to resist, continuously, the strivings of the Holy Spirit, until judgment is finally meted out to him. Communism is basically atheistic — a hatred of God is its first tenet. The Communist Manifesto states, “We hate religion and God. If God, Himself, were to appear before us, we should refuse to worship Him, but we should consider Him equal with 'us. Our task is to destroy all kinds of religion, all kinds of morality.” In Romans 1, we find that three times, God has given up those who wilfully go against the Lord. The Lord said, “As the days of Noah were, so shall the coming of the Son of man be.” For 120 years Noah preached and no one repented. Wicked ness reigned supreme. Persia was the second of the four great world empires which held sway over the world during the time of the Gentiles; GREECE was next. Persia has never ceased to exist as a nation and she will once more become a factor in world governments during the time Russia seeks to capture Palestine. In 1932 Moscow signed a treaty with Persia, providing that in the event of war free access of Russia through the land of Persia to the middle East and to Palestine would be granted. Three years later, in 1935, the name of Persia was changed to IRAN! The name “Ethiopia” which is men tioned, undoubtedly does not refer to the African Ethiopia. There was an ancient Ethiopia called- “Cush” in Scripture; this was located in the re gion of Babylon, adjoining Persia. The same is true of Libya, the third nation which will be allied with God. The old name for Libya was “Phut.” It has the same geographical location.
