Leeds - Facilities/Deputy Security Services Manager

• Contributing to the development of strategic plans for the service and translating these into action plans and objectives for Security staff, ensuring that these align with the strategic objectives of the service and the University • Managing change effectively in line with the Service’s strategic plan; • Developing proactive working relationships with other Managers (Faculty and Service) to deliver a security strategy for each building on campus in accordance with a risk assessment methodology, implementing effective control measures; • Working with the Security Services Manager and Crime Prevention Officer to deliver a continuous improvement plan to detect and deter and reduce crime; • Responsibility for developing a crime prevention plan for the campus, with direct line management responsibility for the Crime Prevention Officer, working together to deliver an effective programme of advice and support to staff and students throughout the year. In addition, ensuring that appropriate crime reduction information on the Service’s website is reviewed, updated and maintained; • In conjunction with the Security Service Manager and the Management Accountant, managing and reviewing budgets, ensuring that expenditure is monitored and controlled in line with the University’s financial regulations; • Assisting the Security Service Manager with the tendering and procurement of service contracts and products in line with the University’s financial procedures; • Promoting and delivering a strong customer culture, continuously monitoring and responding to customer feedback, complaints and satisfaction surveys in order to continuously improve service delivery; • Assisting the Security Service Manager in ensuring that all security staff and contractors comply with relevant mandatory and statutory standards/regulations as determined by the University, ISO 18001 health and safety management system and ensuring effective management of Health and Safety across sites; • Assisting the Security Service Manager in managing external security contractors, attending contract review meetings with the Security Service Manager, monitoring contractors performance in accordance with Service Level Agreements; • Monitoring Security Services performance and implementing a thorough internal audit programme, producing appropriate statistics as required. Market testing of service and benchmarking performance against external organisations as appropriate;
