What will you bring to the role?
As a Facilities / Deputy Security Services Manager you will have: • Significant experience of leading and managing staff, including managers, in a security/facilities management environment (commercial or institutional) combined with experience of working in a management team; • A proven ability to lead and manage staff effectively and to create an environment where staff are motivated and supported to achieve service/organisational goals; • Significant working knowledge of the law applied to security and an understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislation in relation to security matters; • Significant experience of contract management and performance improvement and experience of procurement activity and tendering contracts; • A good understanding of technical security systems, for example, intruder alarms, locking systems, access control, incident reporting and CCTV systems; • Strong communication skills, with an ability to interact with people at all levels, both internally and externally and to develop effective working relationships; • The ability to exercise tact and diplomacy and deal with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality at all times; • Excellent IT skills with experience of using MS Office Software and computerised information systems; • Excellent organisational skills with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise own and others’ workloads effectively and work under pressure to meet strict deadlines; • Ability to solve complex problems and resolve difficult situations using own initiative, sound judgement and political awareness; • A full current valid driving licence (manual vehicles) with an ability to drive vehicles in a safe manner; • Demonstrable behaviours in line with University and Commercial and Campus Support values. You may also have: • A degree or equivalent qualification in a facilities management related subject; • A health and safety qualification i.e. IOSH Managing Safely;
