announced that it received the “Conceptor Award,” the second highest award in the prestigious 2015 Engineering Excellence Awards competi- tion sponsored annually by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Delaware . The project was completed for Sallie Mae, Inc. A large storm- water pond that would also pro- vide aesthetic and recreational amenities for the employees and a dynamic image for the business was envisioned. This challenging project re- quired innovative engineering solutions to manage storm wa- ter runoff during construction of the new 1.42-acre, two-tiered pond with a 96-foot waterfall, boardwalk, walkways with exercise stations, and picnic ar- eas in the same location as the existing wet pond.
