M&E Engineers Franklin Residence Hall Bloomfield, NJ
Size: 80,434 s/f The Franklin Street Residence Hall is the latest in a series of upgrades to Bloom- field College’s campus and achieved a Gold certification under LEED for New Construction. This expansion project has created a sustainable space with state-of- the-art dormitories and classrooms, plus approximately 7,600 s/f of office/commer- cial/retail space at street level. Featuring one-bed, four and eight-bed suite-style living areas, the four-story 80,434 s/f building also boasts a rooftop courtyard, game room, fitness center and multipurpose space in addition to a lounge areas overlooking downtown Bloomfield on each floor. M&E Engineers provided com- missioning and energy modeling services.
Size: 164,000 s/f DMR designed additions and renovations to two schools in Bridgeton, NJ, part of a $46 million Design/Build contract with the New Jersey Schools Development Authority. Both buildings will seek LEED Gold Certification from the USGBC. The Buckshutem Road Elementary School project includes approximately 33,000 s/f of new construction and 7,000 s/f of renovations, increasing the school’s capacity by nearly 200 students. The Quarter Mile Lane Elementary School in- cludes approximately 91,000 s/f of new construction and 33,000 s/f of renovations, increasing the school’s capacity by nearly 500 students.
