Girls’ Health in Girls’ Hands (GHGH)
GHGH is addressing health education disparities, providing safe spaces to explore important topics, and empowering girls to advocate for their health needs. GHGH and the Girls’ Leadership Network bring health education and unique experiences to 665 young women in 2025, providing mentorship, advocacy training and access to physical, emotional and social wellness resources.
“Girls’ Health in Girls’ Hands is a powerful example of what happens when a community invests in young women and gives them the tools, confidence and platform to lead. The GHGH team at the Boys & Girls Clubs’ work has inspired thousands of girls across Monterey County, and we are proud to honor them with the 2025 Excellence in Education Award,” said Dr. Deneen Guss, Monterey County Office of Education Superintendent of Schools. “They are building the next generation of leaders who are informed, compassionate and unafraid to advocate for a better future.”
