General Ops Manual

MOLLY MAID General Operations Manual Copyright  2015, Molly Maid, Inc. 9.1 Marketing/Service Vehicles MOLLY MAID cars are one of your best advertising tools. Once your business reaches four or five teams, you will find an increasing awareness of your service and an increasing number of customers who come to you because they have seen your cars. 9.2 Approved Specifications As covered in detail in the Right Start Manual, each franchise owner must purchase or lease two cars that meet standard requirements prior to starting the business. All cars must have approved body color and must be identified by approved logos and decals. For each additional team established, the franchise owner is responsible for providing an additional vehicle that meets the above requirements. Refer to the approved car list. All cars should have automatic transmission, a radio, and air conditioning. Anything additional is not cost effective. There should be consistency in your fleet of cars, letting all residents of your territory know that the cars belong to the same large business. 9.3 Lea ing Versus Buying Whether you lease or a purchase car is a personal choice that depends on many factors: availability of credit, cash flow requirements, tax consequences and your personal philosophy. Because you have not yet established business credit, your personal credit availability and history will be a factor. Leasing is often chosen to minimize cash demands in the early stages of the business. Leases can be very complex, and difficult to compare. Consult with local leasing companies and the auto lease work sheets provided in your Right Start Manual to help determine those factors and considerations upon which to base your decision. 9.4 Monitori g Automobile Usage Your marketing/service vehicles significantly influence the image your business projects to the community. MOLLY MAID cars must be kept clean and neat at all times, free of rust and body damage, and in good mechanical condition. In the MOLLY MAID business, cars are the largest capital investment you make. It is recommended that franchise owners monitor the use and maintenance of all cars to ensure that: The vehicle is safe to be operated by the HSPs.  Operating expenses are minimized.  Repairs to the cars are kept to a minimum, especially as the car gets older.  You are able to dispose of the car at the end of the lease for the residual value or greater. Monitoring should include:  Controlling who drives the car. Proprietary and Confidential Information Page 37
