Throughout this carefully-integrated course, you will acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to provide high quality, compassionate nursing care for improving mental health and wellbeing. You will learn to improve the care and treatment of people using mental health services, as well as their carers and their families. Our academic staff are qualified nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, providing an exceptional combination of theoretical rigour, professional insight, and practical expertise. Our excellent facilities include a realistic clinical suite so you can put your theoretical knowledge into practice in an environment that reflects as closely as possible the actual conditions that you will experience when you go on placement in a hospital or community setting. Half of your teaching will take place in the University and the other half in healthcare settings*. We have excellent working relationships with many healthcare providers, so you will have access to a wide range of clinical experiences across South West Wales. These could include community health care centres, hospitals and specialist areas in forensic, child and adolescent, drug and alcohol and older persons nursing.
