Our Occupational Therapy course will give you the skills and experience to launch a rewarding career in this diverse and essential profession. Occupational therapists work to empower people to develop, maintain or improve a diverse range of activities that are relevant and meaningful in their daily lives, from basic self-care at home to work-related activities, hobbies and more.

Throughout this integrated course, you will learn the skills to help people overcome difficulties caused by illness, disability, accidents or ageing. This could involve the use of aids and adaptations, modifying tasks or developing new skills. The course uses a spiral design based around five key themes that you revisit regularly to develop the knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence required to become a registered Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Our academic staff are qualified nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, providing an exceptional combination of theoretical rigour, professional insight, and practical expertise. Our excellent facilities include realistic clinical suites so you can put your theoretical knowledge into practice in an environment that reflects as closely as possible the actual conditions that you will experience when you go on placement in a hospital or community setting. We have excellent working relationships with many healthcare providers, so you will have access to a wide range of clinical experiences

across South West Wales. These include placements in the NHS and independent sector in hospitals and community settings. You can expect a starting salary of £25,654 rising to £45,838 for a highly experienced Occupational Therapist.
