ALLEGHENY LEAD SAFE HOMES PROGRAM The Active Allegheny Grant Program assists municipalities with developing plans and designs for improving bicycle and pedestrian transportation. In 2022, ACED awarded four grants through the Active Allegheny Grant Program helping municipalities to undertake active transportation plans and design a sidewalk connector that will link a residential area to a commercial corridor and nearby transit routes.

Families Assisted Funds

HIGHER EDUCATION BUILDING AUTHORITY Through the Higher Education Building Authority, ACED assisted Carnegie Mellon University with a series of three bond issuances totaling $77,495,000. The bond proceeds helped fund the construction of the University’s Richard King Mellon Science Building facility, Robotics Innovation Center, and CMU Cloud Lab.

ALLEGHENY GROWS Allegheny Grows is continuing to strengthen communities through community garden development and support. In 2022, the program helped establish gardens in Bellevue and Turtle Creek and provided ongoing support to gardens in Verona and Blawnox. Over 100 volunteers completed 1,130 hours of work.
