Safe to produce, safe to use Our vertically-integrated manufacturing processes give Gildan maximum control over every phase of apparel production from sourcing of cotton and other raw materials to the fabric finishes and dyes we use. We strive to build sustainability, safety and quality assurance measures into every phase of production. In addition to earning Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certification for all Gildan® and anvil® branded apparel, other than caps and visors, the Gildan Environmental Code of Practice (ECP) has been integrated into all our own facilities, including a list of allowable materials that are free from substances harmful to humans or the environment. The ECP: • reassures our customers that our products are clean and safe for their health • ensures a safe working environment for our employees • minimizes our environmental impact
2004 erhielt Gildan als erstes nordamerikanisches Unternehmen in der Branche für bedruckbare Sportbekleidung das Oeko-Tex®-Standard-100-Zertifikat, eine international anerkannte Norm, die gewährleistet, dass unsere Stoffe keinerlei Schadstoffe enthalten. 2013 trat Gildan der Sustainable Apparel Coalition, einer Handelsorganisation, in der mehr als ein Drittel der weltweiten Bekleidungs- und Schuhindustrie vertreten ist, bei. Der Verband bemüht sich darum, den ökologischen und gesellschaftlichen Fußabdruck von Bekleidungs- und Schuhprodukten auf der ganzen Welt zu reduzieren. Das Gildan-Qualitätssystem, unser proaktiver Ansatz für Qualitätskontrolle, legt hohe Leistungsstandards für jede Produktionsphase fest. Dazu gehören strenge Tests, um zu gewährleisten, dass wir diese Standards bei jedem Produktionsschritt – vom Garnspinnen bis zum Vertrieb – erfüllen oder sogar übertreffen.
