his word when he says he wants Jesus to come into his heart. We should re joice in this decision and seek to nourish this young life. No wonder our Saviour suggested that we all need to become as little children in this re spect. Q . Lawndale, California — “When did Simon Peter die? Did he ever go to Rome?” A. We believe that Peter may have visited Rome. There is nothing in Scripture itself, apart from the last chapter of the gospel of John, which would indicate anything concerning his death. Tradition indicates that he was crucified at Rome with his head downward. He did not want to go the way his precious Lord died. There has never been any valid historical evidence, however, to the effect that Peter actually got to Rome. Q . San Francisco, California! — “WiU you please explain Matthew 3:11 which reads, ‘I indeed baptize you with wa ter unto repentance: but he that com- eth after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.’ ” A. This is the personal testimony of John the Baptist as he tells of Christ, the Messiah. He was right in that the coming of the Saviour was not only man but also God. No mere man could baptize with the Holy Spirit. Since Christ was very God, however, this is exactly what He did. His word of authority that the dis ciples were baptized literally with fire as well as with the Spirit. This was fulfilled in the second chapter of Acts. Q , Lancaster, California — “Will there be a new heaven and a new earth, or will it be the same heaven and earth purged by fire and blood?” A. In Revelation 21:1 we read, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.” II Peter 3:7 states, “But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition (con demnation) of ungodly men.” Wher ever sin has extended it will be all made new. The Word of God refers to three heavens. There is our cloudy at mosphere as the first. Second is the starry firmament. And finally, the heaven which is the throne of God. Paul was taken up to the third heaven according to his testimony to the Cor inthian church. Fire will consume the earth. God is going to fashion a brand new one out of that which will be destroyed. Man will not be allowed to destroy himself or to destroy the earth by any of his own inventions, no mat ter how ingenious or explosive they may be. Q . Camarillo, California — “When we go to heaven will we have our flesh and bones?” A. While our body in heaven will be flesh and bones, it need not necessarily be as it is now. I Corinthians 15:50- 53 gives us this remarkable and im portant statement concerning our res urrection bodies. We have life now because of the blood which flows through our veins. When Christ died on Calvary, He shed His precious blood (Luke 24:39). As far as our body for the future is concerned, look at Philippians 3:20 and 21. When we go to heaven, we will have our flesh and bones. It will be a spiritual body, however, adapted to the expression of spiritual things. It will definitely be a 25
