heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. . . .” Another heart is yellow. When we speak of a person’s being yellow we mean that he is afraid. We have all known people who were halfhearted in the Lord’s service because they feared their companions. The third heart is green. I have heard people called green when they were ignorant or inexperienced. Cer tainly the person who is halfhearted in God’s service is unmindful of the great rewards God has for those who faithfully serve Him. Here is a whole heart. It reminds us of those who wholeheartedly serve God. (Place in the center of the tri angle.) Caleb was a man who whole heartedly served God. In Joshua 14: 14 we read, “ Hebron therefore be came the inheritance of Caleb . . . because that he wholly followed the L o rd God of Israel.” Let us learn from Caleb and from these hearts that God has special re wards for all those who wholeheart edly serve Him. Nov. 25, 1956 A C l o c k C o u n t s OBJECT: An alarm clock with an il luminated dial. LESSON: How is this alarm clock dif ferent from most alarm clocks? “ It has an illuminated dial.” Yes, you are right. Do you know what makes this clock visible in the dark? During the day it drinks in the rays of light and then it is ready to give out light when darkness comes. If you want to prove this, take a clock with an illuminated dial and at night hold it close to a bright electric light. Then turn off the light and see how much more brightly the clock shines than it did before. This clock reminds me of people so much that I am going to name it Carl. If you were to take Carl and put him in a dark room every day and not allow him to have any light, it would not be long until he would stop shining. This is a counting clock. I hear someone say, “ Don’t all clocks that are running count?” Yes, they count off the time but Joshua, like this clock, made his life count in the dark as well as in the light. I told you that Joshua lived in a dark time of Israel’s history. When he was giving his last message to them, he reminded them of God’s blessings.
