The Africa we want requires efficient service delivery, engaged citizenry, creation and equitable distribution of knowledge, purpose driven organisations and more local investment. All these moving parts working in harmony foster innovation and AfriLabs has a supportive role to play in ensuring that all other ecosystem actors are successful.
AfriLabs has a large leadership role as well and this strategy presents the convergence of our aspirations and the opportunities to ensure inclusiveness, access, equity and sustainability across Africa’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Guided by our 10 year strategy we will work towards our vision for a thriving innovation economy driven by the power of the AfriLabs community. Our strategy remains live and we will continuously review it to ensure we serve our community as we should - in ways that matter to them.
We commit to always be guided by our values: ubuntu, experimentation and curiosity, gender equality, Pan Africanism, putting hubs first, integrity, inclusiveness and being impact and community driven.
We stand on the shoulders of African innovators and entrepreneurs who have gone before us and we celebrate them in our work and continuously seek their guidance.
We will not walk this journey alone. We will do this groundbreaking work with our community and partners. We invite our community and partners to work with us to grow the network of AfriLabs members, build our national networks and design relevant programs for Africa’s innovation hubs and the communities they support.
Together we can work towards identifying issues that matter to Africa’s entrepreneurs and innovators and create the policies that address them.
