2. INTRODUCTION

2.1 AMTE CH cartridge d us t collectors a re d esigned t o fil te r ou t solid p articulate from a mbien t air. Cleaned air can be returned t o t he work spa ce to lo we r heating/coo ling costs, if a ppropriate fir e/explosion sup pression systems are in stalled (i f a pplicable) . The co llecto r can b e suspended from t he r oof structure, sup ported by legs or placed directly o n t he floor. A d us t drawe r is a vailable fo r floo r mounted in stallations . With susp ended or le g s upported installations a h oppe r is a vailable for dus t remov al. Spar k baffles a re o ffered a s a n option o n t hese u nits a nd are STRONGLY r ecommended.

2.2 Installation is co mplete a fter: •

The u n it is p ositioned appropriately

• Ele ctrical power is co nnected (a ppropriately) • Fire d etection/suppression systems co nnected (a ppropriately – and if s o eq uipped). • Compressed air is co nnected ( appropriately)

2.3 MOST FILTERING MEDIA IS COMBUSTIBLE EVEN WHEN IT IS TREATED WITH FLAME RETARTANT MATERIALS. PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN TO PREVENT BURNING MATERIAL FROM COMING INTO CONTACT WITH THE FILTERING MEDIA. 2.4 FIRE OR SMOKE DETECTION DEVICES AND APPROPRIATE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS MAY BE REQUIRED DEPENDING ON LOCAL CODES AND AUTHORITIES. PLEASE VERIFY WITH THE APPROPRIATE AGENCIES WHICH MAY INCLUDE, BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY AND LOCAL, STATE OR FEDERAL AUTHORITIES. SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER OR HER/HIS REPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TO OPERATING THE EQUIPMENT.

2.5 It is imperative that the equipment be cleaned and properly maintained on a continual basis to ensure performance and safe operation. This maintenance can usually be performed on a contract basis if necessary. Contact your Distributor for details.

2.6 All employees should be familiar with the on/off controls. No burning, torches or cutting should be carried out in direct proximity to the unit. A suitable fire extinguisher(s) should ALWAYS be READILY accessible.

2.7 Good judgment should be utilized at all times. If you are unsure about the system components or function, please contact your Distributor.
