SUPPORT FOR PARENTS OF YOUNG CHILDREN (SPYC) SPYC offers one-to-one teaching and support to assist parents and caregivers of children 0-6 years old in increasing their self-esteem and parenting skills, and to develop a sound community-based support system. Services are provided by Community Counsellors. In addition to one-to-one support, the program also runs three (3), eight (8) week group sessions based on the science of child development and attachment theory, with a focus on skill- building. The primary long-term goals of the SPYC program are to support and educate parents, increase sense of family wellness and support and promote safe and healthy home environments. We truly appreciate our Community Counsellor...her professionalism, patience, communication skills, kindness and genuine care for her client families. We also think the program is wonderful and will recommend it to others. Thank you; we have learned a lot that will benefit our children and us!
The immediate goals are to educate parents around the normal stages of child development, foster better communication and more positive interaction between parents and children, introduce more effective ways to respond to particular child behaviours, and connect families in need to services that can be of assistance to them.

BC SETTLEMENT AND INTEGRATION SERVICES (BCSIS) BCSIS assist refugees, temporary foreign workers, post-secondary international students and provincial nominees looking to pursue pathways to citizenship; increase ability to enter and thrive in BC’s Labour market and establish connections to the workplace and community . BCSIS Outcomes: Successful navigation of immigration process that includes Increase labour market attachment and better integration into community and workplace.
