WHAT BEGAN AS a spontaneous duet between vocalists Chloe Shekinah Resler and Ilana Zackon (a former contri- butor to The CJN) at the 2025 KlezKanada summer music retreat in Quebec has become a cross-continent project inspired by the 1930s Yiddish swing movement. Most of the repertoire emerged from archival research Resler coduct- ed in Denver (her family there dates back four generations)

Connecticut, and Denver — where, over the course of one week last June, they gathered to record the album and played a Yiddish event called Festo! Festo! The tunes are swingified covers of songs by artists like The Barry Sisters and Moishe Oysher, plus 1920s and ’30s compositions by the late Russian American songwriter Lipa Feingold that Resler found in the Denver archives.
