The number of entries from Prescott- Russell on the Ontario Sunshine List has increased. The United Counties of Prescott-Russell (UCPR) has more names on the provincial government’s Sunshine List. The provin- cial annual report lists all public sector employees, both at the provincial and municipal level, who received $100,000 or more in salary or total wages during the year. The 2018 Sunshine List includes 40 entries from the UCPR, compared to 30 on the 2017 list. The UCPR has 485 employees, including full-time, part-time, and on-call. The UCPR serves a combined regional population of 89,333 according to the latest Statistics Canada census in 2016. The top 10 Sunshine List entries for the UCPR for 2018 starts with Chief Administra- tor Stéphane Parisien, at $214,979. Next is Marc Clermont, public works director, at $144,660, followed by Louise Lalonde, admi- nistrator for the Prescott-Russell Residence, at $142,480. Sitting even for fourth, fifth, and sixth are Louis Prévost, planning and forestry director, Michel Chrétien, emergency ser- vices director, and at Anne Comtois-Lalonde, social services director, each at $141,200. The Sunshine List total increased by one for fire department staff in Prescott-Russell who earn $100,000 or more. The provincial government released last week its annual Sunshine List of public sector employees who earn $100,000 or more. The list includes provincial and municipal government employees, along with staff of school districts, hospitals and other public sector agencies. The 2017 Sunshine List issued last year noted eight entries for the municipal fire departments of the Prescott-Russell region, which had staff earning $100,000 or more. This year’s Sunshine List for the 2018 period has nine entries. Hawkesbury had three entries on the 2017 list and has five entries on the current list. Hawkesbury’s 2018 Sunshine List en- tries include Michel Poulin, department captain, $179,948; Yves Berniquez, department captain, $162,629; Daniel Gascon, department captain, $138,315; Patrick Mayer, firefighter, $116,855; Julien Boisvenue, firefighter, $116,549. Gascon was promoted to department fire chief earlier in 2019. The City of Clarence-Rockland had four entries on the 2017 list and now has three on the current list.
