There would be battles of a different type waiting for Andrew when the series then headed on to Thruxton for the third meeting of the campaign. As in the first two rounds, Andrew was on the pace from the moment he hit the track but started to feel ill going into qualifying. Diagnosed with a virus, Andrew bravely fought his way to a brace of top six finishes before the virus got the better of him and he was forced to miss race three. Sitting in eleventh in the championship standings, Andrew went into round four at Oulton Park with his focus firmly on breaking back into the top ten – and the former champion more than delivered the goods. Making the most of the fact that he wasn’t carrying any success ballast into the weekend, Andrew qualified on the second row of the grid and converted it into a podium finish in the opening race.
