Selon la Police provinciale de l’Ontario, une escarmouche entre Émard et Pascal Carrier, un homme de 47 ans de Saint- Jean-sur-le-Richelieu, est à l’origine de l’appel aux policiers et les deux hommes ont été arrêtés pour en-
trave envers un agent de la paix et pour possession d’armes.

Shoplifter arrested again Police have charged Karriane Belair, 25, of Hawkesbury, with theft under a value of $5000 following a call, April 15, from staff at the Walmart outlet in Hawkesbury, about a shoplifting incident. The police incident report states store staff caught Belair leaving the store with more than $140 in unpaid groceries. The report also states that Belair is the subject of a previous arrest warrant for a past shoplifting incident inHawkesbury. She was released with an order to appear in L’Orignal for the May 11 provincial court session. Drunk driving Nicholas Lalonde, 23, of Alfred, is charged with driving with a blood-alcohol reading exceeding 80milligrams.The charge resulted from police investigation of an accident on Bolt Road in Alfred, after midnight on April 17. Lalonde was driving a 2005 black Nissan 350Zwhen his car hit another vehicle parked on the road shoulder. No one was in the other vehicle and Lalonde was not injured during the collision. Lalonde’s car was impounded for seven days and his driver’s licence suspended on- site for 90 days. He is scheduled for theMay 18 provincial court session in L’Orignal.
Someone is either the new owner or vendor of a stolen flatbed trailer and police would like to talk about it. Hawkesbury OPP have a report of a flatbed trailer stolen sometime overnight, between April 12 and 13. The trailer was kept at a gated and locked business property located on County Road 4 in Champlain Township. Sometime during the night, the thief or thieves forced open the front gate and drove offwith a black 2007 Sure-Trac flatbed trailer, model ST7.The trailer is valuedat about $6500. Careless driving with flatbed Investigation of an afternoon accident in mid-April, involving a tractor-trailer transport going off the road on the outskirts of Hawkes- bury and Vankleek Hill, is now concluded. Police have charged the 63-year-old Qué- bec driver with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act. On April 13, just before 3 p.m., a 2007 Freightliner semi-tractor unit towing a loaded flatbed trailer was southbound on Highway 34when it crossed over the northbound lane, after a curve in the road.The tractor and trai- ler went off the road, into the ditch and hit a phone pole before stopping. Police incident report states there were no injuries.
