37 th Terry Fox Run in Russell and Embrun

To the editor This is a reminder that the 37 th Terry Fox Run will be held on Sunday, September 17, from 9 to noon, in Russell and Embrun, on the fitness trail. We have two starting points: one beside Experience and one at the trail parking lot behind Mother Teresa School, with prizes at both ends for the first man and woman to finish the run. Registration is free and can be done on- line as well, and all donations are gratefully accepted. You can get pledge forms in local businesses. Don’t forget to drop in to Eupho- ria asManager Monique and staff are enthu- siastic supporters of this event. Live music will be provided by Happy to Be Here! There will be a warm up by Penny Lee Provost of Nia and Alison Lystik’s pound class. We thank our continued supporters of this event, especially Russell Scotia Bank and staff. They do the matched funds for the event and have helped since we have

organized this event, for over 20 years! Labelle Tents provide us with shelter and have since the beginning! The Russell/ Embrun Fire departments will be crossing people safely and we will have paramedics in case of injury. You can walk, run, rollerblade or wheelchair. We have a pit stop at the dog park with refreshments and fruits supplied by Russell Foodland. Face painting by Jackie will be provided. Imagine Orthodontic Clinic at the traffic circle in Embrun is also opening its doors for the Terry Fox Run as a pit stop, for use of water fountain and washrooms. Russell Mayor Pierre Leroux and coun- cilors will open the event and this year’s dedication is to Russell teachers Jen Gun- ton and Jitka Rezecova of Embrun! These two amazing women will be attending that morning! Last year, together Russell and Embrun raised $13,996.77 and the total since 1982 is $286,416.46. Thanks to our incredible team

and themany volunteers. We still need stu- dents to come out to help sell t-shirts and cheer on the participants! Let’s make some noise for Terry Fox! He still inspires us today!

Hope to see you there,

Cindy Saucier Donna Lafrance

La Grande Randonnée Parkinson génère près de 5000$

HAVE YOUR SAY AT THE ONTARIO ENERGY BOARD’S COMMUNITY MEETING

WHEN?

Tuesday, September 19, 2017 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m.)

—photo Vicky Charbonneau
