Youngkens take service, is a faith work. Mr. Charles E. Hurlburt is the Director upon the field, and Dr. R. A. Torrey is the Chairman of the Home Council, whose headquarters are in Philadelphia. A District Council for the Coast was organized a year ago, and Professor Kel logg is the Secretary. A band of volun teers meet once a month for prayer, and we are hoping that the Lord will speed ily thrust some of them out. TT GIVES us great joy to tell of the be ginnings of an exodus from our midst to the regions beyond. If the Lord tarry we are expecting that very many from our classes will be thrust out into the dark places of the earth. One evening in November Mr. Nowack of China, su perintendent of an independent mission, appeared before the Fishermen’s Club and spoke for ten minutes concerning the need of a young man for his field. After prayer and at the conclusion of the meeting Mr. Hams Von Klitzing, a mem ber of the Club, and a student in the Institute, volunteered. As he was evi dently set apart by the Lord for the work and as he has been a diligent and faith ful student of the Lord for the previous year, consent was given to his departure. The Mission is a faith work, and there were no funds on hand for his outfit or passage money. On the Wednesday night following in a little church prayer meeting the matter was incidentally men tioned and in a few minutes’ time the passage money was practically secured and his support for five years guaran teed. Within ten days Mr. Von Klit zing had sailed for the field. MR- KIMURA is the representative of 1 the Fishermen’s Club in Japan. TUTR. CHARLES T. YOUNGKEN for a number of years carried on The Big Brother Work for handicapped boys. The work was conducted under the auspices of the Fishermen’s Club and was greatly blessed. A year ago Mr. Youngken and his wife volunteered for Africa, and have been awaiting marching orders ever since. On Satufday, December 13th, they received notice that they were wanted at once and in one week from that date they left this city. This young couple have a host of friends who will be hold ing them up in prayer. They are to take charge of the school in Kijabe, British East Africa. A farewell service was held in the Institute, at which a large num ber of people were present. Dr. Tor- rey, Superintendent Horton, Rev. J. Hab- bick, their pastor, Hugh Walace, Presi dent of the Board, and some of the young people who are volunteers for the same field took part in the service.
