With a little help from her friends, Manon Diotte will have somewhere to live after a fire destroyed her house on Concession 6 of Alfred-Plantagenet Township. Diotte is a paramedic with the Prescott- Russell Emergency Services. Day and night, she is available to help people in distress at accident scenes, fires, and other emergency situations, and get them to the nearest hospital as fast as possible. During the night of April 28, Diotte faced her own personal emergency when the duplex where she lived burned down. Now some of her friends are rallying to her rescue with a GoFundMe project to raise money to replace some of the essential things she lost in the fire and also help find her a new place to live. “Every day, as a paramedic, Manon puts her health at risk for the safety of the commu- nity, providing frontline services for COVID-19 testing and other emergencies,” state The Friends of Manon, at their GoFundMe page.

property. “She is one of the kindest, most caring people that we know,” state the Friends of Manon. “She is an everyday hero during this pandemic that we are all experiencing. Every day she puts her life at risk. We are asking the community to help us help Manon Diotte rebuild her home and replace her essentials,

“And now she is without a home.” The GoFundMe campaign for Diotte seeks to raise $20,000. The goals are “to help rebuild her life and home” through either assisting her with finding a place to rent in the Alfred-Plantagenet Township or Town of Rockland areas, or allowing her to buy a “tiny house” unit now to set up on her own

so that she can continue providing the es- sential services for the community.” As of May 1, the Friends of Manon have raised almost $10,000 on their Go- FundMe page, about half of the $20,000 goal. Those who wish to donate to the cause can go to www.gofundme.com/f/ xetp2-emergency-home-for-a-first-responder.
