Senior vice president Rob- ert Squires received both the Producer of the Year award and Sima Kislak Jelin Sales- person of the Year awards. Executive vice president Pe- ter Wisniewski received the Transactions award, and sales associates Stephen Gianis and Thomas Scatuorchio re- ceived the Rising Star awards. “2017 was an extremely suc- cessful year for Kislak,” said Robert Holland, president. “Many of our salespeople had the best 12 months of their careers and our awards recipi- ents were truly exceptional and well-deserving of their achieve- ments. “ Kislak’s Producer of the Year award is presented to the individual who generated the highest sales volume during the past year. Robert Squires had an extraordinary 2017. He closed more than 30 transac- tions including the sale of five separate multifamily portfolios in New Jersey, among other properties, and his individual sales exceeded $100 million. Squires also earned the historic distinction of becoming Kis- lak’s all-time leading salesper- son in any calendar year during Kislak’s 112-year history. The Sima Kislak Jelin Sales- person of the Year award is presented to the individual whose performance and profes- sionalism during the past year demonstrated the highest stan- dards of excellence for which Kislak is known. Under Waters’ leadership, NJAA’s executive director and the government affairs team will be directing strategies that will help decision makers at every level of government understand the significant role the multifamily industry plays in New Jersey. n

2, Harkins president Gary Garofalo has assumed the additional role and responsi- bilities of CEO, setting and managing the strategic goals of the company and serving as the main point of communica- tion between the board of di- rectors and Harkins’ business operations. Larry Kraemer has taken over from Garofalo as COO, with the construction vice presidents reporting to him. Lombardo will continue to serve on the Harkins Board of Directors. Garofalo joined the company in 1991 and has managed the company’s finances as CFO since 1992. He was promoted to president and COO in 2016, and Kraemer was also pro- moted at that time, to execu- tive vice president. Kraemer has been with Harkins since 1989, serving since 1998 as vice president of preconstruc- tion and marketing. Garofalo expressed his ap- preciation for the support of MONROE TWP., NJ — The NewJersey Apartment Association (NJAA) is proud to announce that Stephen Waters has been elected to serve as board president for the 2018-2020 term. Waters was inducted at NJAA’s An- nual Meeting on January 24 and his term will continue until mid-January 2020. Waters is the senior vice president of facility opera- tions at Morgan Proper- ties – a national real estate and investment management company headquartered in King of Prussia, PA. Morgan Properties is the nation’s 22nd largest apartment owner and operator, with 150 apartment communities consisting of over 45,000 units in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, South Caro- lina, Ohio, and Nebraska. and management teams. The award is named after the late Mrs. Jelin, who was an execu- tive, key mentor, and motiva- tor to countless salespeople; and the daughter of the firm’s founder, J.I. Kislak. Given Squires’ extraordinary year, he also received this prestigious award by an overwhelming vote of his peers for the second year in a row. Squires joined Kislak in 2003 and specializes in the sale of multifamily and other invest- ment properties throughout northern New Jersey. He is one of Kislak’s leading salespeople with northern New Jersey in- vestment sales totaling more than $650 million. The Transactions award is presented to the individual who closed the most transac- tions during the past year. Peter Wisniewski also had an extraordinary 2017 and was the deserving recipient of this award with more than 40 closed lease and sales transac- tions in New Jersey throughout the year. Wisniewski’s transactions included the sale of a 219-unit multifamily development in downtown Rahway and the sale and leasing of various in- dustrial and office buildings in she oversees leasing for the entire Vision Real Estate Ptrs. portfolio. She previously served as a landlord representative with Cushman & Wakefield in NJ, including several leasing agency assignments for Vision Real Estate Ptrs. Her owner- ship and services experience also include past positions with Colliers International, NPV/Di- rect Invest and Grubb & Ellis. She is a veteran of the United States military. Gatje leads Vision Real Es- tate Ptrs.’ property manage- ment team, assists in the un- derwriting and onboarding of

Somerset and Union Counties. Wisniewski joined Kislak in 2015 and runs the firm’s com- mercial sales and leasing divi- sion. Throughout his career, Wisniewski has leased or sold more than eight million s/f of commercial space and well over 1,000 acres of land and is actively growing Kislak’s presence in the New Jersey commercial real estate market. Kislak’s Rising Star award is presented to newer salespeople who recorded the greatest achievements during the past year. Gianis joined Kislak in 2016 and specializes in commercial sales and leasing in northern and central New Jersey under Wisniewski’s tutelage. Gianis recently closed on five indus- trial and office transactions for Tulfra Realty and procured several new office and medical tenants at the Murray Hill Office Center and Murray Hill Plaza South in New Provi- dence. Scatuorchio also joined Kis- lak in 2016 and specializes in investment sales in north- ern New Jersey. His recent transactions include the sale of mixed-use and multifamily investment properties in both Morris and Essex counties. n
