Total industry shipments through June have now reached 2.43 billion pounds and narrowed the gap to last year to less than 1%. The June position report has reiterated underlying firmness in the market with all the fundamentals signaling strong global demand, active sales, healthy commitments, and reduced supply heading into the new crop.
SHIPMENTS India:
India remains one of the industry’s most closely watched markets. June shipments totaled 34.1 million pounds (1,078 containers), bringing crop-year shipments to 344.1 million pounds (10,896 containers), down 9.0% from last season. Buyers continue to purchase on a disciplined hand-to-mouth basis as they balance higher replacement costs, currency pressures, and elevated inshell values. With Diwali occurring later this year, attention is increasingly shifting toward new crop arrivals. Recent Chinese demand for California inshell almonds, driven in part by Australia’s quality challenges, has introduced additional competition for available Nonpareil supplies and continues to support firm inshell pricing.
