Blue Diamond ’s July 2026 Almond Crop Estimate has been revised to 2.67 billion pounds with a range of 2.65 to 2.70 billion pounds. This range reflects the downside risk and variability of the 2026 crop. We will continue to share crop updates in our monthly Market Reports, with later updates providing a more precise forecast as we progress through harvest.
Market Perspective The June Position Report reinforces the constructive tone that has developed over the past several months. Export demand continues to outperform expectations, helping offset ongoing softness in domestic consumption. With shipments remaining strong and commitments comfortably ahead of last year, current crop inventories continue to tighten heading into harvest. The most encouraging metric in this report is the continued decline in uncommitted inventory. Sellers have considerably less unsold product available than at this time last year, reducing the likelihood of widespread harvest pressure as new crop becomes available. At the same time, current crop receipts have effectively concluded near 2.69 billion pounds, confirming a crop modestly smaller than last season. As attention shifts toward the 2026 crop, market participants are generally aligned on crop size. Greater attention will likely shift toward harvest timing, kernel sizing, quality and early yield results as the industry begins receiving new crop deliveries. Overall, market fundamentals continue to support a firm tone. The arrival of the new crop should improve availability on the heels of harvest. However, tightening current crop inventories, healthy export demand, and a second crop near 2.70 billion pounds suggest downside price risk remains limited. This perspective assumes we do not have a materially larger-than-expected harvest or meaningful deterioration in global demand.
