CEF Chief Executive Mark Spence said the scale of this year’s event reflected both the strength of the industry and the people behind its success. “We are delighted by the response to this year’s awards and incredibly proud to be bringing the industry together on such a scale,” he said. “Most importantly, these awards are about the people behind the projects, the businesses, teams and individuals whose skills, expertise and hard work deliver for their clients every day. There is a huge amount to be proud of, and this is our opportunity to recognise and celebrate that.” Among the night’s special moments was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Robert McKelvey, celebrating a remarkable career that has taken him from labourer and apprentice to craftsman, businessman and respected industry leader. As the evening reached its climax, Heron Bros took home the Achieving Excellence in Partnering Award for the
NRC Ballymena Campus, recognising the outstanding collaborative approach behind the delivery of the project. Then came the biggest award of the night, the Overall Winner of the 2026 Northern Ireland Construction Awards. Selected from across the category winners as the standout project of the year, the prestigious title went to Henry Brothers for the Advanced Manufacturing & Innovation Centre in Newtownabbey. It was a fitting finale to an evening celebrating the very best of Northern Ireland’s construction industry. Guests also showed tremendous generosity in supporting nominated charity Little Heroes, with the wonderful Sparkle Choir providing one of the most memorable moments of the evening. With more than 850 guests, an outstanding calibre of entries and some of the industry’s biggest names in the room, the 2026 Northern Ireland Construction Awards showcased the talent, innovation and expertise driving the sector forward.
