E.G.X VIDEOGAME CONFERENCE In order to enhance our students’ understanding of one of the key components of the A Level Media Studies examination, our Y12 Media students were fortunate to attend the EGX gaming conference at the Excel centre. Students are expected to have detailed knowledge concerning the working practices of the videogame industry and this was an exciting opportunity to spend time talking with professionals, hearing talks from industry experts, as well as the gamers themselves. They had the chance to interact with world renowned game creators and experience first-hand what makes successful game design, as well as gaining an essential source of advice on starting a career in the games industry. And naturally they could play a vast array of video games from retro cabinet games right up to the next generation multi - player and multi-sensory games.
