Serious domestic assault case

A Hawkesbury man faces several charges resulting from police investigation of a domestic assault complaint from the Ham- mond area in Clarence-Rockland. Police received a call May 12 from a woman reporting a series of domestic as- saults. Investigation resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-oldHawkesburyman. No names or other identifying information was included in the police media file report. The man is charged with single counts of assault, spousal assault causing bodily harm, and attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person to overcome resis- tance. He is also charged with two counts of breach of a probation. He is scheduled for the June 10 provincial court session in L’Orignal. Impaired driver Police received a call May 11 about a pickup truck heading towards Rockland on County Road 17 that was weaving all across the road. The vehicle was located at the Boston Pizza parking lot with the driver still inside. Police on the scene noted the smell of alcohol. The driver failed a roadside screening test on site and later an Intoxilyzer test at the OPP detachment. Police arrested Carl Johansen, 36, of Rockland, on a charge of having care and control of a motor vehicle while his blood-alcohol level exceeded 80 milligrams. He was scheduled for the May 27 provincial court session in L’Orignal. Traffic stop bust A routine traffic check resulted in amari- juana possess charge against Claude Dupuis Jr., 31, of Alfred-Plantagenet Township. A police patrol in RocklandMay 23 stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. A computer file check showed the driver was not licensed. Police also found a small amount of mari- juana in the driver’s possession. Dupuis is scheduled for the June 24 provincial court session in L’Orignal for theminor possession charge and also the July 2 provincial traffic court session on a charge of driving while his licence was suspended. Domestic assault A 37-year-oldHammondman is charged with spousal assault following police investi- gation of aMay 24 incident on Legault Road inHammond. Police case report states that a man and a woman were arguing about their relationship when physical force became a factor in the dispute. The accused is sche- duled for the June 10 provincial court session in L’Orignal. Impaired driving Tammy A. Moore, 38, of Rockland, is char- ged with impaired driving, driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 80milligrams, possession of marijuana in an amount less

Impaired driving Lynne Bercier, 41, of Alfred, faces two charges after a police road check in Lefaivre early in the morning May 3. She is charged with driving while having a blood-alcohol content exceeding 80 milligrams and with driving while having an open container of liquor in her vehicle. Her vehicle was impounded for seven days and her driver’s licence suspended on the spot for 90 days. She is scheduled for the May 27 provincial court session in L’Orignal. Marijuana Maxime Renaud, 18, of Ottawa, is charged with possession of marijuana in an amount less than 30 grams.The charge resulted from aMay 17 police checkstop on Laporte Street

Impaired driving René Bouchard, 58, of Anjou, QC, is char- ged with impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 80milligrams. The charges resulted from a May 17 police checkstop on County Road 17 in Rockland. He is scheduled for the June 3 provincial court session in L’Orignal. Liquor violation Two Ottawa youths are charged under the Ontario Liquor Licensing Act with having open liquor in their possession while in a motor vehicle. The charges resulted from an OPP checkstop May 16 on County Road 17 in Rockland.
