Wheels & Heels at SFX
Debbie Andrews, Jesse Bell, Dylan Marleau and Zachary Charbonneau were all ears as Lise Laporte and Melanie Grenier from the Emergency Services department of the United Counties of Prescott-Russell explained what they do on a day-to-day basis. They were all attending St. Francis Xavier High School’s Wheels & Heels event held May 23. The school hosted the event, raising funds for the school council. The event was organized by seven local schools inclu- ding SFX, Pope John Paul II, St. Patrick’s, St. Jude’s, St. Mary’s, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Mother Teresa. Some of the wheels on display included a Greyhound bus, a school bus, a few fire trucks, a police car, farm equipment and an ambulance. Two fashion shows took place throughout the day showcasing items from local clothing stores. Juanita MacDonald, from the school council, said there were hundreds of people at the event that raised approximately $2000.
The Rockland Fire Department could be seen for miles around as it showed onlookers at the Wheels & Heels event Saturday just howhigh its ladder could go.
