The teams “Joint Arthritis” and “Pro-can Movement” are raising funds to participate in the Walk to Fight Arthritis and for prostate cancer awareness. They held a garage sale on May 11 in Russell and were pleased by the number of people who came and bought items. Shown at the sale are Michel Richer, Nick Lorion (prostate cancer sur- vivor), Michelle Lemieux, Bernice Allard, Phil Houg and Sylvie Morin. Organizers wished to thank everyone who contributed, sponsors, volunteers, sale item donors, and members of the public who came out.

EMBRUN | A full slate of entries is expected for tee-off time at the Ninth Annual Pres- cott-Russell Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament. Tournament chair Ziya Erkan also antici- pates the ninth edition of the popular rec- reational tournament will also prove a good drawing card for the chamber’s ongoing membership drive. “Again, this year, we are aiming for a full participation of 144 golfers,” Erkan stat- ed. “We invite all of the region’s business people and entrepreneurs to join us. The goal of this event is to gather our business- people and give them an opportunity to network and exchange ideas in a relaxed and fun setting. The (tournament) commit- tee also counts on this event to draw new members to the chamber.” Michel Parent board chairman for la
