T he Young Forwarder Network (YFN) was honoured to be joined early in November by the fi rst female chairman of The London Freight Club, Chrissy Nichols. Chrissy, a founder of Atlantic Paci fi c Group, spoke with passion and enthusiasm about the industry and left all attendees feeling inspired. During the event, Chrissy outlined her career journey to where she is today, some of her proudest moments, and even shared some of the difficulties she had as a woman when first joining a male- dominated industry. Following her talk, the floor was then opened to a Q&A and discussion on how the

latest generation of forwarders can further shape and influence the direction of our industry. For some, it was their first event, and all attendees left the event feeling inspired, encouraged, and empowered. One attendee said: “I felt very welcomed and had a great time for my first event. I met some very interesting people and feel that I have been inspired to learn more about freight forwarding in a wider scope.” This event also welcomed the brand-new YFN chair for the London East region, Thomas Low, OIA Global, who follows on from Lexi Laybourn, DP World.
