Rugby: Let’s Play Rugby! • AGES 9-14 The Crusaders Rugby Club is the official feeder program for the Naperville Warriors, Neuqua Wildcats and Plainfield Thundercats High School Rugby Teams. Rugby is a sport that welcomes everyone and to be successful, requires a wide range of talents. The popular Crusaders program is designed for both new players and returning Crusaders, with practices designed to help develop skills, training, philosophy and strategy necessary to allow everyone to participate in this sport. The sessions are non-contact and are taught by fully qualified coaches, allowing everyone to learn in a safe, structured and supportive environment. This winter program acts as the preseason training regimen for our outdoor Spring schedule which begins in March. Our weekly session provides a great opportunity for new players to try the sport of rugby, while providing returning players with an opportunity to build their skills. Rugby is a sport for athletes of all sizes, and this program is designed for players of all experience levels. Younger athletes should enroll in the winter program, the Naperville Crusaders, as this is the feeder program for the Warriors. Volleyball: EVP Junior Volley Series Match Play • AGES 11-14 Interested in playing volleyball with other volleyball athletes with skills to compete against other park district teams? Coaches will develop a team and bring parity to the weekly instruction to prepare for in-house matches. The coaches’ lesson plan will guide the team in weekly training for 60 minutes. Registrants will learn team defense and offense positions while they improve their fundamentals of passing, setting, spiking and overhand serving. This is a 4-week program that meets once per week for 60 minutes. The lesson plan directs the use of individual training, pairing drills and game situation development that help each student reach a new level. Instructors organize short games at the end of each class. The lesson plan also incorporates leadership and educational components.
