Is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com

Beauty and the Beast, as it is known today, comes from a French adaptation of a story found in many ancient cultures with influence from Africa, Europe and Asia. The story’s heroine, Belle, lives near an enchanted and forgotten French castle whose resident prince has been turned into a beast as punishment for his selfish nature. She teaches the beast that if he can learn to love and be loved in return, the spell will be broken. This timeless tale asks the audience to consider two key lessons: show respect for others and look beyond what you see. Will Belle break the spell? Will the prince learn to love? Will they live happily ever after? All of these questions and more will be answered in this enchanting musical with a memorable score. ICE RINKS The following ice rinks are lighted and open until 10:00 pm: • Centennial Park, 500 W. Jackson Ave. • Wolf's Crossing Community Park, 3252 Wolf's Crossing Rd. • Nike Sports Complex, 288 W. Diehl Rd.

The following ice rink is not lighted and close one hour past sunset: • Gartner Park Ice Rink, 524 W. Gartner Rd.

ICE RINK RULES AND REGULATIONS • Hockey and Broomball are allowed only on the boarded rinks at Centennial Park. No pucks or sticks are allowed on free- skating areas. • No alcoholic beverages are allowed. • Skate safely and in a controlled manner to avoid collisions with other skaters. • Refrain from offensive language and behavior. • No bottles or glass are allowed on rinks. • Children ages 8 and younger must be supervised by an adult. • Violation of posted rules may result in suspension from the ice rink and/or a fine.

ICE RINK REMINDERS • The ice rinks are natural rinks that are dependent on weather conditions for ice quality. • The rinks are designed for recreational skating only and are not maintained at professional or competitive skating standards. • A minimum of 72 hours of constant temperatures of 15 degrees or below is necessary before the ice-making process can begin. Then, additional time is needed to ensure that the ice has sufficient time to freeze to create an adequate skating surface. • The ice skating season is entirely dependent upon consistently cold winter temperatures and conditions. These aspects affect the timing and availability of ice-skating throughout the winter season. To find out if ice skating is available at any of our outdoor rinks, refer to: www.napervilleparks.org/cancellations.

HOCKEY STICKS Hockey sticks are only permitted on the two Centennial Park hockey board rinks. Hockey sticks are not permitted on the free skating areas at Centennial Park, Wolf's Crossing Community Park, Gartner Park, or Nike Sports Complex. RED AND GREEN FLAGS Red and Green Flags Indicate Ice Rink Status. The District posts red flags or green flags at its ice skating rinks to indicate whether they are closed or open, providing a user-friendly and visible signal to people at park locations. The District also updates the status of ice rinks at napervilleparks.org/cancellations, allowing residents the ability to check on the status of rinks prior to leaving their home. Skaters should not use ice rinks when they are posted as closed on the website or when a red flag is flying at the rink. LIGHTED ICE RINKS Lighted ice rinks operate through use of a push-button located at each rink. Lights are available when the rinks are open for use. Lighted ice rinks close at 10:00 pm.

Naperville Park District's Snow Clearing Scope The Park District recognizes that there’s a lot of recreation to be enjoyed during the winter months. However, please understand that while we cannot clear all of the sidewalks or park and facility parking lots when it snows, we do have snow-clearing standards that help improve residents’ and patrons’ access to parks and facilities that are open for use during the winter. Our snow-clearing scope includes: • Sidewalks near schools where Park District programs are held in addition to some sidewalks within school zones to ensure that residents have a cleared path to/from their neighborhood’s school. • Sidewalks adjacent to Park District facilities that are open for use • In areas with Park District land on either side of a street, our staff will clear sidewalks on one of the sides • Trails/paths located in select parks across the community (clearing of trails occurs after the primary routes are completed) Naperville Park District's Snow-plowed Trails NORTH Nike Sport Complex...............................1/2 mile Country Lakes Park................................1/3 mile Riverwalk.................................................3.2 miles Wil-O-Way Commons.................................1 mile CENTRAL Knoch Park...................................................1 mile Wildflower Park......................................1.2 miles Meadow Glens Park..............................3/4 mile Winding Creek Park...............................1/3 mile SOUTH Frontier-Ashbury Park- Ashbury Greenway................................2.1 miles Commissioners Park.............................1.5 miles Wolf's Crossing Community Park......1.2 miles CENTRAL/SOUTH Burr Oak-DuPage River Park............6.5 miles For more information visit napervilleparks.org/ snowclearing

Stay Off the Ice to Stay Safe this Season Did you know that there are over 500 retention ponds in Naperville? Regardless of the time of year, it is never safe to go out on the water – even when it appears to be frozen! You never know how thick or strong the ice may be as these aspects are affected by varying temperatures, which create thin, weak spots that are dangerous and unpredictable. Parents, please talk to your kids about the dangers of ponds in winter and teach them how to stay safe. Help pets stay safe, too, by keeping them leashed around ponds.
